Jayme (Jaymes) Pyne
Jaymes joined the Gardner Center in 2019 and currently serves as a Senior Research Associate. Through his research he examines the nature and consequences of engagement, punishment, and inequality in education and society. He specializes in sociological and public policy quantitative studies, including those using experimental and quasi-experimental research designs. His work appears in journals such as Science Advances, Proceedings of the National Academies of Sciences, American Educational Research Journal, Educational Researcher, Social Forces, and Sociology of Education. Prior to his career as a sociologist he taught history and served as a school counselor in public schools, and served as a youth counselor in group homes for adjudicated adolescents.
