Understanding the Experiences of English Learners
This project provides an opportunity to study the experiences of students who are English Learners across nine school districts, from Kindergarten through high school, and to focus inquiry on key indicators that predict postsecondary success, with particular focus around transition points when students are commonly more vulnerable. This research project is part of the Stanford Sequoia K-12 Research Collaborative which is a Research Practice Partnership between the Stanford GSE and nine local school districts. The Gardner Center is also responsible for establishing and maintaining a data archive for the partnership, that will be used for research projects conducted by Stanford faculty and researchers in close collaboration with the school district partners, to answer questions of relevance to practitioners and produce generalizable knowledge for the field.
