Mark Murphy is a doctoral candidate in education policy and the economics of education at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. He is a recipient of the Institute for Education Sciences Fellowship in Quantitative Education Policy Analysis and the Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education Fellowship. Mark’s research focuses on the educational effects of immigration policy, school finance, and educational equity with particular emphasis on Hispanic and American Indian student populations. Prior to attending Stanford, Mark served as a Senior Fiscal Analyst for the New Mexico Legislative Education Study Committee, a Jesse M. Unruh Fellow for the California State Assembly Committee on Education and a middle school math and history teacher for the Zuni Public School District.
